LOS System Adaptations To Customer's Requirements

LOS system units are designed to be universal and to comply with general measurement demands. However some special applications may require different or altered design of the system units to fulfil customers needs.
Here are some typical examples:

Adaptation of system function, parameters or dimensions of the optical and mechanical components

LOS MINI: miniature system used in co-ordinate positioning tables and in other precise mechanisms.It is offered as a set of miniature optomechanical components which allow measurements in 1, 2 or 3 axes. LOS MINI is the alternative where small dimensions are important and where the maximum measured distance is 3 m. Two types of interferometers are offered: linear interferometer with cube corner reflector and plane mirror interferometer. The laser is the same with a beam diameter of 3.5 mm.


Contactless measurement: In a typical configuration, a corner cube reflector is used. In applications where small dimensions and low weight is important (high dynamic parameters for example) it is possible to use reflection from a small polished surface on the measured object or from a small mirror which is fixed there. The measured range is limited up to 5 mm. The applications of this configuration are the movement of membranes, piezopositioning or measurement vibrations of fast rotating shafts.

Plane mirror interferometer: The usual application is in X-Y positioning tables with plane mirror reflectors. LIMTEK can supply mirrors of different dimensions.

Electronics and software: Adaptations for various I/O signals, control loops and data processing.
